White paper | Contactless Power and Data Transmission with NearFi Technology
Workpiece carriers For the automated testing of finished products, workpiece carriers transport the manufactured condensing boilers through the test stands. The leak-testing process involves the use of water, which causes connectors to corrode more quickly and increases maintenance intervals. In addition, a temporary switch to WLAN due to a high frequency congestion in the production hall merely reduced interference but did not result in stable, interference-free operation.
That is why NearFi Technology, a contactless real-time Ethernet technology, is used: It enables wear- and maintenance-free communication throughout the entire process.

AGV When an AGV docks at a processing station, secure communication is required. However, conventional connectors for PROFIsafe are susceptible to interference and require frequent maintenance, which slows down the process. Since WLAN networks in factories are heavily utilized, wireless-based safety communication is also only suitable to a limited extent.
NearFi transmits the Ethernet protocol without latency or wear across a short air gap, thereby enabling reliable parallel operation without frequency planning. Wide docking tolerances speed up the process even further.
