Summary and outlook
NearFi addresses typical weaknesses of conventional interfaces in moving and rotating industrial applications through locally confined, contactless transmission of real-time Ethernet data and, optionally, power. The combination of high bandwidth, low additional latency, coexistence, and reduced integration effort supports scalable system designs. Future areas of application include, in particular, production environments, retrofit scenarios with high RF density, and applications with strict requirements for maintenance-free operation and availability.
