Technology and potential applications
From a home charger to a fast charging park
You can realize any charging solution with our scalable products. Equip your charging points with the CHARX products from Phoenix Contact: As a component manufacturer, we supply all the equipment for your charging infrastructure – whether with an AC home charger, DC fast charging station, or an HPC charging park, whether with PCB, DIN rail, or 19 " rack mounting.
From charging cables up to load management solutions, our broad portfolio forms the basis for a high-performance charging network.
The modular 19 " system in detail
The CHARX system in a standard 19 " format consists of several coordinated modules for distributing, converting, and controlling the charging current:
• Distribution modules: CHARX power distribute
• Control modules: CHARX control integrated
• Power modules: CHARX power basic
All three module types can be combined together to suit any charging situation.
Compared to classic equipment with DIN rail components, the modular setup significantly reduces the complexity of a DC charging station and enables modules to be installed and replaced quickly.
Power modules The highly efficient CHARX power basic fast charging modules enable you to operate your DC charging infrastructure more efficiently by converting AC grid electricity into DC electricity. In total, up to 48 power modules can be connected together per system.
Control module CHARX control integrated combines all functions for controlling and monitoring your charging station and manages up to five 30 kW power modules for fast DC charging up to 150 kW. The module has comprehensive interfaces: CCS, CAN bus, OCPP, TCP / IP, RS-485, and I / Os for connecting charging cables, touch panels, RFID readers, and status LEDs. The flexible programming of the control module enables you to design the software and the user interface completely freely.
Distribution module CHARX power distribute supplies up to five power modules and the control module with
AC mains voltage. Integrated surge protection, miniature circuit breakers, and overheating protection ensure the maximum safety of all downstream modules and cables. This enables the fused connection of power modules of overvoltage category II.
Space-saving, efficient design Especially for charging stations in urban locations, the space requirement is a key factor. Other comparable systems with an identical charging power have a significantly higher space requirement and require additional wiring work.
