The Safety extension module ensures that the advantages of PLCnext Technology are also available for safety applications . The Safety module is connected to the left of a PLCnext Control device . This turns the PLC into a safety controller with full functionality up to SIL3 / PLe that can communicate via PROFIsafe as the F host .
At the same time , it can be operated as an F device subordinate to a higher-level PROFIsafe controller . PLCnext Engineer allows standard and safety applications to be programmed in just one engineering tool , and C functions can also be reloaded .
