Conclusion
HIGH PERFORMANCE MANUFACTURING SOLUTIONS
When it comes to IIoT solutions, suppliers like
GE, Cisco, and IBM are frequently mentioned.

But because this is an emerging technology, with
new applications arising all the time, the actual
suppliers to this market will be very big, particularly in the early stages of IIoT. OpenText,
for example, while not a company that would
quickly come to mind, would be capable of
supporting next-generation order-to-cash IIoT
processes. To the best of ARC’s knowledge, no
other supplier is currently thinking about this
application. OpenText is also working to develop
other scenarios that will allow the company to
leverage its trading partner network-based connectivity solutions.

intelligent machines and devices can help prevent
database bloat. Similarly, having some processes
kicked off automatically at the device level could
lead to a leaner and more streamlined application
environment. But, inevitably, much IIoT data will
need to be archived in corporate databases and integrated to enterprise applications. Again, companies
will need to think through these questions carefully.
There will be pros and cons to both approaches.
